Little bass, big checks!

Lake Billy Chinook presented a whole different kind of challenge for our anglers. Catching fish wasn’t the hard part, catching fish of size was the trick in this all-smallmouth affair. Most of our anglers caught 30-50 fish, with many under the 8-inch minimum. This meant anglers had to be organized and efficient at photographing and culling smaller fish. And with no reliable cell service on the lake, anglers were forced to track their best fish manually and upload the best, plus a few “insurance” fish as well, just in case.

All this resulted in an extremely close race, with just 2.75 inches separating the money-winners. One medium-sized fish would have changed everything but they were in short supply. It was so close, in fact, we had a tie for 2nd Place (tie goes to the angler with the biggest fish in their bag).

HERE ARE THE ANGLERS WHO CAME OUT ON TOP:

  1. Gage Loveall – 61″ – $966.13
  2. David Litehiser – 59″ – $393
  3. Braden Allison – 59″ – $229.25
  4. Daniel Clark – 58.25″ – $49.13

NEXT ADVENTURE BIG BASS WINNER

Matt Walker had the biggest fish of the day, a 14.25 inch smallmouth, so he took home $304 in cash and a $100 Next Adventure gift card.

Camping Information

Unfortunately, camping at The Cove Palisades State Park is full. Ellisa Carbullido-Field and Chandler Field have been kind enough to block out their property for us for camping. They have several camp spots and some RV-friendly spots available. They have portable toilets on-site. They have been extremely generous to us by offering this location with no reservation fee. They will have donation boxes on-site, so PLEASE take good care of them and take great care of their property while there.

Their property is on the west side of the Deschutes in West Culver.

The Chinook Store is close by with supplies and gas.

Contact

You can text or call Elissa on her cell phone at ‭(808) 219-5387‬ to reserve a spot and give her your ETA. She can send directions and information.
