History was made!
What an exciting day on Dorena and Cottage Grove Lakes. Our biggest OKBF Tour Event in six years of live tournaments. We had 40 anglers on the water and 116 fish submitted to TourneyX. There was a lot of debate before the event about which lake would produce the winner. The top two anglers fished Dorena, but three of the top 10 anglers fished Cottage Grove. Too close to call.
Veteran OKBF angler Richard Childs came out on top with his first win, and he caught the big bass of the day to boot. He took home the biggest payout in OKBF history: $1,589.85! The newcomer from WKBF came in second in his first live tournament, Tyler Hicks — amazing job. In third was William Eschliman with his second top-three finish this year and a full bag of spotted bass. And Cody Allison rounds out the anglers who took home a check in fourth.
Rich also qualifies for the Kayak Bass Classic at CJ Strike Reservoir in October.

NEXT ADVENTURE BIG BASS WINNER
Rich Childs pulled a rabbit out of his hat after his biggest fish of the day (20.5″) got denied for a technical mistake. Turns out his SECOND biggest fish of the day was still bigger than anyone else’s (19.75″), so he took home $389.50 in cash and a $100 Next Adventure gift card.

Safety Notes:
- An overhead 360° light is required in low light conditions. A high-visibility flag, vest-type PFD, and sound signaling device (whistle) are required on the water at all times. Failure to utilize any of this safety equipment may result in disqualification.
- Social distancing of 6+ feet should be maintained at all times. Keep your distance on and off the water.
- Weigh-In Procedures may change as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Masks should be worn when anglers are gathered.
- If you are displaying any of the known symptoms of COVID-19, including without limitation, fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, and/or diarrhea, stay home. If at any time before or during the Event you begin to experience any such symptoms, or learn that you have come into contact with anyone who either has COVID-19 or is displaying such symptoms, you must immediately alert an Event official and withdraw from the Event.
- KFNW has a no refund policy on entry fees, but we will make an exception and issue refunds for competitors who experience symptoms of, or are diagnosed with COVID-19 before the event has been completed. Competitors must notify their Tournament Director. KFNW will not issue refunds unless they are notified sufficiently before lines out.

Eligible Water Boundaries:
- Main water body of Dorena Lake and Cottage Grove Lake
- Connected creeks, rivers, sloughs and tributaries accessible via kayak from the main body of water are in-bounds up to 1 mile from the main main body (conditions permitting for safety and accessibility)
- Disconnected sloughs and ponds are out-of-bounds.
- Portaging is not permitted
- Only public waters are allowed
West Coast Championship Qualification:
- Top 25% of competitors of each qualifier event will be qualified for the West Coast Championship at Clear Lake, CA on August 20–21, 2021.
- No roll downs. If an angler qualifies twice, they basically eliminate another angler from qualifying.
- Competitors who register and attend three KFNW qualifier events will automatically qualify for the WCC, regardless of position.
- Competitors who register but do not attend qualifiers, are not eligible.
