May 12, 2026 – In this episode of The KFNW Current, KFNW Director Marvin Forte is joined by Tournament Director Matt Burdick for a full recap of the 2026 Spring Opens and a primer on what’s coming up at Tour Event 2. Marvin and Matt break down the results from all three Spring Open events — Dorena Lake in Cottage Grove, OR; Fernan Lake near Coeur d’Alene, ID; and Alder Lake in Eatonville, WA — then shift focus to Tour Event 2 on May 30 at Tenmile Lakes in Lakeside, Oregon. Known as one of the premier largemouth bass fisheries in the Pacific Northwest, Tenmile Lakes offers nearly 2,000 acres of shallow, weedy water across two connected lakes. March 24, 2026 – In this episode of The KFNW Current, host Marvin is joined by Brandon Hua and Jim Davis — Director and co-Tournament Director of the Sniper Marine Northwest National Qualifier Presented By Snake River Manufacturing, the 2026 Oregon B.A.S.S. Nation Kayak Qualifier. They break down everything anglers need to know about this April 11-12 event on Lake Umatilla (Columbia River), including the registration process, off-limits period, eligible water boundaries, the mandatory board check on April 10, and the awards ceremony requirements. The top 10% of finishers qualify for the Bassmaster Kayak Series National Championship on October 14-16, 2026. Marvin also delivers a 50/50 Season Long Online Challenge leaderboard update. With 187 approved fish already on the board from 29 of 76 registered anglers, the early competition is fierce. Brandon Hua leads with 200 total inches, followed by Geoff Linson at 191.25 and Michael Jarvis at 181.5 — the only three anglers with a full bag of largemouth and smallmouth. Standout catches include Corey Carlile’s 22.25-inch smallmouth and Michael Jarvis’s 21.25-inch largemouth.
